Youtube advice

Hi guys, it's Lucie and welcome back to another blog post this blog post is going to be advice on how to do Youtube .

I have been doing Youtube coming up to four years and I have learnt so much in those four years. The first thing is you don't need expensive equipment. When I started Youtube I use generation four iPod and I moved the way up to the phone and then I had enough money to buy a camera.

I learnt the hard way when I was filming on my phone never film vertical because it doesn't get everything in the screen and will look odd on Youtube.

Also you can get phone tripods. I found mine in Claire accessories and it cost £20.00 but I loved it I used it for at least year.

The camera I use now is Canon sx410 II and this is a great camera.  Only sad point is no flip out screen and it quite a bulky camera, so it quite hard when taking it traveling and wouldn't be any good for vlogging.

Second thing you will need is a good editor and you can get them without spending a fortune. I started on window movie maker cause at the time I was using a dell computer which I loved (been handed down to niece) and loads of editor you can download.  Some of the more expensive one do trials but then, you have a huge water mark which is so ignored so avoid some of them.

Third things you will need if using a camera are a memory card. I prefer bigger gb memory cards as it never runs out of data. I get the 32GB from wilkinson which is only £9.00

Fourth thing you might need if using a camera is tripod I use one from argos vitar and it was £20.00, I use it and it was really good.

Last thing is lighting. If you can get good natural light in your room whoop for you but if you live in the uk like me then you need to artificial lighting. I got a ring light set from Amazon -
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01L8WUIOG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It is a very good set only down side is the length of delivery cause it came from China and it is over £100, but if you want to get some good lighting then it definitely worth the investment. The other downside is that it doesn't come with instructions.

HOW I PLAN MY VIDEO

I plan all my video in advance. As I come up with ideas for future videos, I write them down in my notes than I write them in my Youtube notebook.  Otherwise I would literally forget them and also sometimes the Ideas just pop in my heads and other time it causes I have got the idea from other Youtube videos.

HOW I EDIT MY VIDEO

As some of you know I recently bought a mac book and iMovie come built in and I have learnt how to put music on and how to put titles on and pictures on and how to fast forwards and it so similar when you know and some of it I taught myself and sometime is they something I want to do I search to see if someone down it on Youtube and that has sometime helps with Youtube.

HOW I SCHEDULE VIDEO

When uploading your video they like a drop down menu and it will say public, unlisted, schedule and private and you can choose anyone of those. If you choose schedule, you can choose the date and time you want to upload.

On the phone it's a little bit different as you have to private it then go on the computer and schedule it.

HOW I RUN TWO CHANNEL

So as some of you know I have second channel which is collab channel that runs with seven other girls well lets say that what it meant to be as it called seven sensational girls. Unfortunately we had issues with the collab issue such as hackers and people deleting video. It is really hard when you work so hard on the channel and then someone gets on the channel and deletes the video.

We now have code situation so when people try to log on a code come through to my phone and they ask for the code and, it hasn't happened very recently.

Anywhere I plan the weekly theme just like I do with my main videos I write them down in my notes and put them in what order I want and then tell the other girls on the channel.

At the moment will haven't got anyone for monday or tuesday.

Also they are now rules in place which are

1. If you don't upload for three weeks, you get taken off the collab
2. Each time you miss an upload you will be given a warning
3. Dont post anything about college or school aka logos or showing things that are they
4.If you need to leave you have to give two week notices
5. If I'm not happy with someone on the collab I can remove them

Best way to make sure you get all videos down is a big and that PREFILM you choose a day and all the video you want to film that day and then you not rushing last minute to film video.  You have plenty of time to edit and you will have more time to have fun.

DAILY VLOGGING

Everyone says you have to do fun thing as daily vlogger and you honestly you don't I enjoy people just tidying up their home and doing homely things and from my experience a lot of people enjoy that as well.

Everyone raves on about canon G7x and G7x Mark II and to be honest I do not use that camera.

I started daily vlogging on my phone which is iPhone six but last year I saved my money and I bought a Sony DSC-HX80 and actually from people i watched that used the G7x mark II I prefer the sony Dsc -Hx80 and it was still quite expensive it was over £200 but it cheeper than canon Gx7 Mark II.

I also edited my daily vlog throughout the day so I don't rush to editing first thing in the morning and it not a rush edit.

INTERACTING WITH VIEWERS

I love to interact with my viewers if that in the comment sections of my video or in public. I have met a few of my viewers and I always make sure that I reply to as many comment as possible and I feature them in following days vlogs.  It makes them feel part of the video and my life and it constant factor in my life.

My question for you

1. What is your favourite video to watch on Youtube
